State Street Ballet is an internationally acclaimed dance company that combines the discipline and timeless elegance of classical ballet with groundbreaking, innovative new works in the contemporary dance field. Founded in 1994 by former American Ballet Theatre dancer Rodney Gustafson, the company gives familiar storylines a modern and unique twist, producing all original works that satisfy today's diverse audiences. State Street Ballet's mission is to introduce dance as mainstream entertainment while honoring classical traditions, and to make dance accessible and inviting to everyone through public performances, collaborations, and successful outreach and engagement initiatives.

Choreographers whose works have been performed by State Street Ballet include Robert Battle, Autumn Eckman, Laurie Eisenhower, Kevin Jenkins, Kassandra Taylor Newberry, Peter Pucci, Margo Sappington, Josie Walsh, and Edgar Zendejas, as well as the legendary Agnes de Mille and George Balanchine. Original full-length ballets are envisioned and created by Artistic Directors Rodney Gustafson and William Soleau, showcasing State Street Ballet's signature elegant-but-edgy style, and propelling the company forward in the rapidly evolving world of dance.

State Street Ballet tours both nationally and internationally, boasting a 90% rebooking rate, rave reviews, and standing ovations around the world. The summer of 2015 saw the company embark on a nine-week tour throughout China, performing Beauty and the Beast in 25 different cities - a crowning achievement of State Street Ballet's 20th Anniversary Season. In August of 2017, the company was invited to perform at the International Ballet Gala in Santiago, Chile alongside stars of The Royal Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin, and New York City Ballet, highlighting the company's uniquely contemporary style and world-class dancers. The fall of 2019 will mark the beginning of State Street Ballet's 25th Anniversary, a season that promises to inspire and empower, setting the stage for the next 25 years and beyond.
