 A fiery mix of innovative Latin dance, song and drama, created in collaboration with composer/playwright Mark Governor, and choreographer/director Janet Roston. When a poor young peasant wins a magic guitar in a duel, he uses it to gain the fame and fortune he needs to marry the girl of his dreams until he finds he has been framed for murder by a wealthy man who wants the same girl.
 "Possession" reinvents the idea of musical drama by emphasizing the power of dance, instrumental music and song to tell the story. Folk elements, iconic characters, and modern elements combine to create a timeless tale of love, betrayal, and redemption. The result is a fast-paced visual and audio feast for the senses, a folk tale for the new millennium that sizzles with heat and passion.

Not just another retrospective of offbeat comic short films spanning the oeuvre of the as-yet-not-dead filmmaker Mitchell Rose, The Mitch Show isa film and performance mashup. It also features several audience-participation performance pieces by this professional wisenheimer. Last season Mitchell was on a State Department tour of Kosovo where he premiered his new work, Podpeople. Five audience volunteers are given iPods. They start them in unison and create a "live movie," performing their headphone-prompted dialogue as they integrate themselves into the scenery projected on the movie screen behind them.
TONYA AND NANCY: THE ROCK OPERA is a darkly comic original opera based on the infamous Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan ice scandal. It drew worldwide media coverage when it premiered in 2006; a new expanded version, TONYA AND NANCY: THE ROCK OPERA, is forthcoming in 2008. This fall, National Public Radio re-broadcast its piece about TONYA & NANCY: THE OPERA on the popular national show, IT'S ONLY A GAME. Host Bill Littlefield said of the opera: "Knee-whacking as opera. This is irresistible."
