ABOUT
Louise Lecavalier has been called the most brilliant dancers of our time; a "rock star of dance," and
"flame on legs".
With her unique strength, speed and suppleness, Lecavalier has succeeded in
building a reputation as one of the most significant players on the
international dance stage. Her explosive stage personality provides a
titillating contrast to the graceful postures of classical ballet and gives a
strong impression of physical presence. A fusion of movements that has allowed
her to contribute to pushing back the boundaries of contemporary dance all over
the world - and for more than 25 years.
Louise tours a collection of three dances (two solos and one duet) created by Tedd Robinson, Crystal Pite, and Benoît Lachambre,
three Canadian choreographers. The duet Is You Me, a repeat collaboration between Louise
Lecavalier and Benoît Lachambre, was created in spring 2008 at Festival
Transamériques in Montréal and is now touring in Europe. She is currently
preparing a double program of duets, created by British choreographer Nigel
Charnock and Canadian choreographer Édouard Lock, that will tour during the
2009-2010 season.
